Well known in Utah for over 15 years, Vocal Performance Camp 2016 "Animation Celebration!" for boys and girls ages 12 through 18 years is held August 4 through August 8 in the Chase Fine Arts Center, Utah State University. Sponsored by the USU Department of Music, this camp offers a unique cross-training experience believing that young singers benefit from classical vocal training as the appropriate entry to musical theater. Features of the camp include:

The camp is limited by age group enrollment and applicants are taken on a first come basis. Registration deadline July 15 with a late fee of $25 after July 15. No university housing is available.
Vocal Performance Camp 2016 Guest Artist and Master Teacher will be Dr. Diane Thueson Reich. Diane Thueson Reich, soprano, is the Division Coordinator for Classical Voice at Brigham Young University, where she also teaches Vocal and Opera Literature. She is a graduate for Utah State University in Vocal Performance, and earned doctoral and master's degrees from Indiana University. Her operatic roles include Marguerite in Faust, Nanetta in Falstaff, Mimi in La Boheme, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte among others. Diane has performed with many professional opera and theater companies, including the Utah Festival Opera Company. She has performed with many regional orchestras at home and abroad. She has been a multiple Metropolitan Opera Audition winner in both Utah and Indiana Districts and won first place in the Vera Scammon International S.O.S. Voice Competition.
Diane's extensive training and impressive performance experience makes her the ideal Guest Artist and Master Teacher for Vocal Performance Camp 2014. We are proud to welcome her 'home' to Utah State University.
Cost for the 30 hour camp is $115 and covers all materials. No campus housing is provided. No prior training is required. Boys with unchanged voices are welcomed.
